The DAR has three objectives:  historical, educational, and patriotic.  The club promotes a love of American history and patriotism, and it promotes and rewards educational achievement.

The DAR was founded in 1890 and has 180,000 National and International members.  The Seneca chapter, called "Wizard of Tamassee" was founded in 1916.

Membership is open to anyone who has an ancestor who fought or assisted in the American Revolution.

​

Annual dues are $70.
